Gauri Head – Hand-painted Wooden Sculpture

Gauri's expression here is deliberately serene — steady eyes, a composed mouth, a yellow face framed by a dark, gold-trimmed headpiece and delicate nose ring. She is painted in a warm, radiant yellow that catches light differently depending on the time of day, which is part of why this particular bust has become one of our most requested single pieces. There is nothing frantic about her; the whole sculpture is built around stillness.

Gauri, another name for Parvati, is worshipped as the goddess of fertility, marital happiness, and devotion, and is often the deity households turn to for blessings around family and harmony. This bust is hand-carved from solid wood and hand-painted in classic, saturated Indian colours by our studio artisans, with the jewellery and headpiece detailing built up in fine gold brushwork rather than applied as a decal or stencil.
