Vaishno Devi is worshipped not as a conventional idol but as three sacred rock formations within her cave shrine in the Trikuta Mountains of Jammu, one of India's most visited pilgrimage sites. This piece brings her into a jharoka, the ornate overhanging window balcony traditionally found on Rajasthani havelis, recreated here in miniature with a projecting canopy and carved pillars, with small lotus motifs worked into the surrounding wood.

The Devi figure is a raised, hand-painted cut-out set within the arched niche, finished with the same fine detailing carried through the rest of the jharoka's carved surface.
