Every detail is drawn from the real performance costume: the tall, ornate Kireedam crown worn by hero characters like Arjuna or Karna, the broad, wing-like Bujai Kattai shoulder plates that give performers their commanding, larger-than-life silhouette, and a dynamic dancing stance with a traditional sword in hand, symbolising valour. The doll is hand-painted with eco-friendly pigments in the saffron, forest green and deep blue traditionally used in Therukoothu face and costume painting, so no two pieces are ever quite alike.

Built in three assembled parts — head, body and base — the doll rocks gently at the lightest touch, a small piece of traditional mechanical craft built into the figure itself.
