Kathakali Mask Decor – Hand-painted Kerala Classical Art

This mask captures Pacha, the green-faced makeup style used in Kathakali to represent noble and virtuous characters, one of the clearest visual codes in a dance-drama tradition built almost entirely around colour and costume. Every element follows real performance detail, from the expressive eyes to the multi-tiered kireetam, or headgear, hand-painted in emerald green, crimson red, and gold.
