Description

Two very different faces sit side by side in this set — one marked with a soft scatter of sunburst medallions and a delicate gold beaded arc across the lip, the other little fiercer, its mouth portion has a silver ekir, the long curved ornament worn in Theyyam to suggest bared, predatory teeth. It's less a matched pair than a study in contrast: gentleness beside ferocity, mounted side by side on their own stands.

Theyyam's ritual cast spans a wide range of deities and characters, and pairing these two distinct designs together echoes how different figures appear alongside one another during an actual festival. Each head is individually hand-carved from solid wood and hand-painted by our studio artisans, with the medallion and beaded detailing on the softer face and the ekir on the fiercer one worked independently to preserve the character of each design.

Because both pieces are mounted on their own individual stands, this set is ready to display formally on a console or mantelpiece straight out of the box. It makes a striking gift for a collector who wants genuine contrast within a single Theyyam grouping.

Material: Solid Wood, hand-carved and hand-painted.

Dimension: Big head: 10 inches x 5 inches x 5 inches (with base).
Small head details as per set specification.
