Kalamkari Peacock Serving Tray – Hand-painted Wooden
Description
Kalam means pen, and kari means work, and together they name one of Andhra Pradesh's oldest storytelling arts, once used to illustrate temple scrolls with a fine bamboo or date-palm pen dipped in natural dyes. The peacock has long held a place of honour in that visual language, linked to Kartikeya's celestial mount and to the first rains of monsoon.
Our artists hand-paint that same peacock, onto solid mango wood, drawing on Kalamkari's characteristic linework and earthy, dye-inspired palette. The tray is sealed and food-safe, equally at home serving guests or standing as a piece of art on a console.
Its rich detailing and cultural weight make it a natural choice for festive gifting or for anyone furnishing a home with pieces that carry a real story.
Material: Solid Mango Wood, hand-painted and sealed
Dimensions: 35 cm x 23 cm x 6 cm
