Kerala Mural Brass Iron Box – Hand-painted Decor Design 3

This handle carries a warm, layered finish — a deep red-orange base, white floral motifs echoing Kerala Mural painting, and small dotted circle accents worked into the design alongside the flowers. The overall effect is rich and deliberately ornate, a handle that reads as considered rather than simply patterned.

This box began as a genuine vintage charcoal iron, the kind once used daily across Indian households. Our artisans restore the brass body completely, preserving its coal slots and hinge mechanism as a visible piece of its history, and then hand-paint a new design onto the wooden handle. The floral and dotted detailing is layered in stages — the base colour, then the black banding, then the individual white flowers and dots added last by fine brush — which is what gives this finish its dense, textured quality.

It works well displayed alongside other collectible objects, where its warm red-orange tone adds contrast to cooler-toned pieces nearby. It makes a distinctive gift for anyone drawn to upcycled brass or Kerala Mural-inspired design.
