Gauri Head Set of 2 – Handpainted Wooden Sculptures

Same face, twice, in two different lights. This set pairs two identical Gauri heads — same arched brows, same nose ring, same gold headband with its central floral jewel, same beaded collar — differing only in colour: one finished in a deep, vivid red, the other in a rich cobalt blue. Displayed together on their matching black-and-white checkered stands, the effect isn't duplication so much as reflection, the same serene face rendered in two moods.

Gauri, another name for Parvati, is worshipped as the goddess of marital happiness, devotion, and fertility, and a doubled image like this is traditionally read as an amplification of her blessing rather than mere repetition. Each head is individually hand-carved from solid vagai wood and hand-painted by our studio artisans, with the fine linework on the brows, headband, and jewellery worked freehand on both pieces — which is why, despite being a matched set, the two heads carry small, natural differences in brushwork rather than reading as mechanically identical.

As a pair, they anchor a mantelpiece or entryway shelf with genuine symmetry, in a way a single bust can't quite achieve. The set is a considered gift for a wedding or housewarming, particularly for someone who wants their console or shelf to read as intentionally curated rather than assembled piece by piece.
