Keerthimukha Wall Frame - Handcarved Temple Guardian Art

Above the doorway of almost every South Indian temple sits a Keerthimukha — a fierce, lion-faced guardian carved to ward off negative energy before it can cross the threshold. This wall frame recreates that temple guardian in a bright yellow finish, hand-carved and hand-painted for a bolder, more vivid presence than a traditional stone or wood tone would give it.

Carved from Vagai wood and mounted on a plywood frame, the piece is entirely hand-worked, with the depth of the carving giving the face real dimension rather than a flat printed pattern.

At 37 cm high, 41 cm wide, and 6 cm deep, it's substantial enough to anchor a wall on its own, with hooks fitted to the back for hanging above a doorway, in an entryway, or as a striking accent above a console table.
