The lotus — Padma — holds a specific place in Kerala Mural iconography unlike any other botanical element. It is not merely decorative. In the tradition's visual grammar, the lotus appears at the feet of deities, in the hands of Lakshmi and Saraswati, and as the ground from which Brahma himself emerges from Vishnu's navel. A single lotus on a clean ground is not a minimalist design choice — it is a compositional statement about what needs to be present and what does not.

This triangle pendant carries a single large white lotus at its centre on a deep teal background. The lotus is painted with the Kerala Mural tradition's characteristic precision: each petal individually rendered, the concentric centre circles clearly formed, the overall form occupying the triangle's space with confident simplicity. The teal ground — cool, still, receding — gives the white lotus the visual isolation it needs to read with the full weight of the symbol.

The chain echoes the pendant's colour logic. Two pearl cluster barrel beads sit close to the pendant, white against the dark rope as the lotus is white against the teal. Turquoise round beads extend the cool blue-green of the pendant background into the chain material — stone that carries the same tone as the painted ground. The black rope ties the warm and cool elements without competing with either. It is a chain assembled with the pendant's palette in mind.
