Description

A jharoka is the ornate, overhanging window balcony found on traditional Rajasthani havelis, and this piece recreates that architectural form in miniature, complete with a projecting canopy roof, small hanging finials, and carved pillars flanking a central arched niche. Sreenathji stands within the niche, a form of Krishna especially revered in the Pichwai tradition of Nathdwara, holding a conch in one raised hand and a lotus blossom in the other.

The ivory-toned background inside the niche is scattered with small painted lotus motifs, while the jharoka frame itself is finished in a deep bronze-gold, with fine floral and dot detailing carved across every pillar and beam. Sreenathji's figure is a raised, hand-painted cut-out set against the flat background, adorned with layered pearl and gem necklaces rendered in careful detail.

At 17 inches in height, 16 inches in width, and 2 inches in depth, this is a substantial architectural centrepiece rather than a flat plaque, well suited to a puja room or a prominent devotional wall.

For NRI households, this brings a genuine piece of Rajasthani architectural form together with Nathdwara's Pichwai painting tradition into a home abroad, making it a meaningful gift for a housewarming or for any devotee of Sreenathji.

Material: Solid Wood (jharoka), Medium Density Engineered Wood (Sreenathji cut-out), set in clear coat sealant
